A three-party groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 4th next to the Severstal mill. It marked the kickoff of Mississippi Steel Processing and New Process Steel facility construction projects. In addition to these two new site partners, Severstal is undergoing an expansion that will increase its steel capacity to 3.4 million tons annually.

| November 1, 2011 – MSP Expansion Plans Take Shape |

Strong customer demand has motivated us to move forward with expansion plans. By late 2012, we'll be operating a new heavy duty slitting line capable of processing material up to 0.625" x 74" x 90,000 lbs. and a cut-to-length line capable of producing sheets up to 0.250" x 75" x 20'. We'll expand master coil storage by 40,000 sq. ft., which will allow us to bring rail shipments inside the building. Finished goods storage will grow by 43,000 sq. ft., including three new truck loading bays. |
